Ask for review of a suspected penalty or report error

Give the report ID, explain the suspected error and keep the review in one support conversation.

Steward decisions are accepted and are not debated merely because a driver disagrees with the judgement. The support review route is for a clear factual mistake, such as the wrong driver being penalised or a duplicate penalty.

The report contains a brief explanation of the steward assessment. The number of reports means staff cannot debate every judgement in detail.

What to provide

  • The report ID and relevant race/session link.
  • The specific factual error you believe occurred.
  • Supporting evidence that identifies that error.

If you already have an LFM Support conversation about the decision, add the information there.

What happens next

Staff assess whether the request qualifies for a factual-error review. Submitting a ticket does not guarantee another review, a changed outcome or a penalty reduction. If an eligible report is reviewed again, the resulting decision is final.

Reports self-accepted by the reported driver are not eligible for an appeal, including a later claim that the wrong person was reported. There is no steward decision to review when the driver accepted the report themselves. A different incident must be reported separately through the applicable reporting process.

The support assistant can explain the procedure and transfer a suspected factual error for human investigation. It cannot judge incident fault, overrule the stewards, lift a ban or promise that a review will be accepted.

Official penalty-review FAQ

Dedicated events and LMU Pro

For an event or Pro & Prime Series request, give the series, race/session and split, and say whether you are asking about an existing penalty or reporting a new incident. The applicable event regulations determine any separate appeal procedure and time limit. Submitting evidence does not guarantee a review or a changed decision.

The Seasons Code of Conduct, chapter 6, distinguishes LMU Pro Split 1 from the other splits. Contact incidents in Split 1 are reviewed by live stewards during the race; the ordinary post-race reporting function is for non-contact incidents only. From Split 2 downwards, incidents use the normal reporting function and evidence video.

To ask support about an existing LMU Pro Split 1 live penalty, provide a video meeting the reporting guidelines, the lap/corner and a brief explanation. For an LMU Pro Split 2–5 or Caseking Prime report decision, provide the Report ID and explanation in this conversation. The responsible team checks the applicable rules and eligibility.
